Pumamarka and Tampotoco are places of great importance to worship the mother earth and the sun since in very distant times these places gave rise to the first incas of the empire to the ayar brothers (ayar cachy, ayar auca, ayar uchú, ayar manco , with their respective wives mama occllo, mama huaro, mama ipacura and mama rahua).
Full Day Cusco – Pumamarka – Tamputoco.
The day begins at 8:00 am with the meeting in the Plaza San Francisco in Cusco and then we head south east of Cusco to reach our destination passing through the town of Paruro town and at 10:00 am we arrive at the town of Pumamarca, then we enlist to walk to the archaeological site of pumamarka, at the site we made an offering of coca leaves asking mother earth for permission, finished 12:00 noon, lunch of dried fruits, then we headed downhill to reach the sacred place of tamputoco where we make the payment to mother earth the process lasts two hours, after that we continue walking to reach the town of pumamarka for our two hour return to the city of Cusco.
